Hi, I'm Eveline! [ back ]

As a small child, I already dreamt about mountains and wild nature. When my parents took me to the European Alps for holidays I got more and more fascinated by big mountains. For a long time I saved money by working as a waitress in several restaurants. When I got 17 years old, I saved just enough money to travel to the High Atlas range in Morocco to climb its highest peaks: Jbel Toubkal (4167m) and M'Goun (4071m). it was not really climbing, but it was my first experience with high(er) altitudes and different cultures. It was great!

The Himalayas
At 18 finished high school and went to the Technical University in The Netherlands. I thought that was a real achievement, so I treated myself on a trip to the highest mountains in the world, the Himalayas. I decided to join a high altitude trek in Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh in Northern India. I fell in love with India and the Himalayas. I decided to leave the University after 6 months and travelled back to India and Nepal, back to the Himalayas for more trekking and more climbing. I continued to climb all kind of 4000-6000m peaks in the Himalayas and the European Alps till now. I finished my studies as a Nutritional Scientist, found a new job and started to dream of climbing bigger mountains.

Mountain Consult
At the moment I work as a Nutritional Scientist consultant and give my support to Mountain Consult with public relations and all other kind of tasks. In the mean time I focus on climbing Everest. In 2011 I was able to support a Mountain Consult expedition up till the Everest South Col during my private Lhotse attempt. I'm sure to return soon to Everest with its magical atmosphere...
